Installation Instructions

The following instructions apply to the A319/320/321 series.

Inflatable Shelter - A319 Installation Instructions - Step 1

Remove the Trojan from its storage case and position it as shown in the diagram opposite.
Unroll the Shelter to its fullest extent, so that it extends back beyond the engine

Unfold the Shelter width-ways, ensuring that the Coversheets are on top and that the long black blower inlet is at the front of the engine. Simply spread the entire shelter out flat.

When the Shelter has been spread out as shown, the long blower inlet can be attached to the fan. Ensure that the three short air outlets have been rolled up and buckled shut. At this point the blower can be attached to a suitable power source

As the Shelter begins to inflate, the apex tubes should be held apart as they climb up on both sides of the engine. At this point the Shelter should be pushed backwards, so that the after most arch pops up behind the engine and forward of the landing gear.

The Shelter should take less than five minutes to inflate fully. At this point the centre of the front door can be rolled up and tied off to allow for access. In the case of a full engine change, it may be removed completely (as shown).

In very windy conditions, it is essential to ballast the Shelter. Ballast pads are fitted to the base tubes of the unit for this purpose. These should be unfurled and ballasted with any convenient material such as water barrels, sandbags or a vehicle if necessary.
